Aiken Earns ECC Player Of The Week Distinction
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 18, 2010) – Junior guard Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) was honored as this week's East Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced. This marks the third straight week Aiken has received the distinction.
Aiken averaged 18.0 points in two games leading the Pioneers to a 2-0 week. The junior tied for a game-high 17 points to lead her team to victory against Bridgeport, to end the Purple Knights conference undefeated streak. Aiken was 7-for-12 from the field while pulling down six rebounds and dishing out four assists. At Mercy, Aiken was 7-for-12, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range in just 20 minutes of play.
C.W. Post (12-3, 6-2 ECC) is riding on a nine-game win streak and heads to Dowling College on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m.
