Murrer Earns Second Team All-Met Honors

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (April 9, 2009)- The Met Basketball Writers Association released its All-Met roster Thursday afternoon, honoring C.W. Post senior forward Whitney Murrer (Richmond, Va.) with a spot on the All-Met Second Team roster. Queens College teammates Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett were named Players of the Year, while Queens head coach Tom Flahive was selected as Coach of the Year.

Murrer helped the Pioneers to a 13-14 overall season, as well as an appearance in the East Coast Conference Semi-Final game against Queens College. She finished the season with a team-high 370 points as well as 203 rebounds. Murrer ended her career with a total of 1,222 points, tying for seventh place on the All-Time Points list. She also tallied 809 rebounds during her career, good for fifth place in the All-Time Career Rebounds category.

In addition to her All-Met honors, Murrer finished her final season as an ECC All-Conference Second Team pick, along with teammate Jasmine Moore (Bronx, N.Y.).
