BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 7, 2009) – The C.W. Post women's basketball team helped coordinate a fundraiser to support an 11-year old girl named Annika, who is battling turberous sclerosis.
The team went to local stores and passed out flyers about the event, sold raffle tickets and made signs and posters. At the event, the players helped run silent auctions and helped out with a bake sale.

Tuberous sclerosis or tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare, multi-system genetic disease that causes benign tumors to grow in the brain and on other vital organs such as kidneys, heart, eyes, lungs and skin. The disorder affects as many as 25,000 to 40,000 individuals in the United States and about 1 to 2 million individuals worldwide, with an estimated prevalence of one in 6,000 newborns.

All the profits (100%) from the fundraiser went to help Annika's parents pay for the costs of medical bills.
Throughout the day, the players and the coaching staff interacted with children of all ages and adults and fielded questions in bringing awareness about the disease.
