BALTIMORE (Dec. 12, 2009) – C.W. Post assistant men's lacrosse coach Frank Vitolo was bestowed with the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Assistant Coach of the Year award for his outstanding work on the defensive unit last season.
During his three-years at C.W. Post, Vitolo has been instrumental to the program and has mentored five All-Americans, including two All-American goalkeepers and a long stick midfielder. In 2009, the Pioneers finished as the second-best scoring defense in the nation.
Vitolo has accumulated over 25 years of coaching experience at the high school, college and professional level and was inducted into the Hudson Valley Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
“Without Frank we would not be at the level of competiveness we are at today,” says head coach John Jez. “His game preparation is unmatched and our program is blessed to have his guidance and leadership. I do not know what I would do without him”
C.W. Post captured its second national title in program history by defeating previously unbeaten LeMoyne College, 8-7.
