PHILADELPHIA (Nov. 22, 2008) – Sophomore forward Catherina Carr scored a game-high 19 points as 10th-ranked Holy Family University defeated C.W. Post, 69-49, in a non-conference women's basketball clash Saturday afternoon.
Holy Family improves to 3-1 with the win while C.W. Post slips to 2-1.
The Tigers completed the game shooting .413 (19 of 46) from the floor while the Pioneers registered .316 (15 of 46). Both teams grabbed 32 rebounds off the glass in the game.
Holy Family scored 21 points off 20 Pioneer miscues while shooting 26-for-32 at the charity stripe.
C.W. Post opened the game with a three-point field goal from junior guard
Jasmine Moore (Bronx, N.Y.) at 19:41 and held the lead until Carr converted a three-point field goal at 15:14 that gave Holy Family a 10-8 lead.
From there, the Tigers embarked on a 16-4 run (26-12) that included three treys from Carr. Holy Family held the Pioneers to four field goals and led29-14 at the break.
The Pioneer offense scored six unanswered points to begin the second half with a three-point field goal from freshman guard

With 15:33 remaining, Carr scored a lay-in that gave the Tigers a double-figure lead for the remainder of the game as they closed out the game on a 9-3 advantage.
Junior forward Christine McCollum contributed 13 points with two assists and three steals while senior guard Lauren Boyer added 10 points and eight rebounds for Holy Family.
Moore led the Pioneers with 14 points with one assist and two steals while Joyner added 12 points. Sophomore guard
Emily Hall (Montclair, N.J.) contributed nine points and three assists off the bench.
C.W. Post will be back in action on Nov. 29 when it faces off at Southern Connecticut State University at 3 p.m.
