BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 26, 2008) - Sophomore forward Amanda Nann (Hamburg, N.J.) scored her team-leading 17th goal of the season and Krystal Napolitano (Coram, N.Y.) notched her single-season record 12th assist of the season, breaking the old record of 11 set in 1983 by Maria DiConstanzo and in 2006 by Amber Limanni, but the Pioneers dropped a 5-1 contest to the top-ranked team in Division II, the Bloomsburg Huskies, on Sunday afternoon on Hickox Field.

The Pioneers were able to hold Bloomsburg's potent offense scoreless for the first 24 minutes of the game, but Vanessa Witman's penalty stroke 24:51 into the game gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

Samantha Kropa's unassisted tally six minutes later gave Bloomsburg a 2-0 advantage.

Nann's ten-yard shot off of Napolitano's short pass cut the lead to 2-1 and gave the Pioneers momentum heading into the half, but just five minutes into the second half, Division II leading scorer Jamie Vanartsdalen took over, scoring the first of her three consecutive goals to put the game out of reach for the Pioneers.

The Huskies held a 24-3 edge in shots and a 19-1 edge in penalty corners.  BU goalie Allison Ziants made one save in the win.

Pioneer keeper Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) made a career-high 16 saves for the Pioneers.

C.W. Post wraps up it season with a 9-8 record, the third consecutive season under Raenee Savin that the Pioneers have posted a winning record, and the second that they've earned a national ranking.
