Casey Schermick joined the LIU Post Athletics staff as the Director of Athletic Media Relations in January 2018.

Schermick is responsible for the maintenance of the Pioneers' athletic website, www.liupostpioneers.com. In addition he is responsible for the promotion of LIU Post’s 26 varsity teams, including writing and distributing press releases and game recaps, serving as the official scorer for many Pioneer home contests, and producing team-specifc and department wide publications and materials. He also handles the official athletic social media accounts and assists in the execution of video broadcasts at home events. 

An active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, Schermick serves on the committee for the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest which awards the top written pieces in athletic communications among seven categories throughout the academic year. 
 
Schermick came to LIU Post after serving as the Sports Information Director at William Paterson University of New Jersey. During his time with the Pioneers, he was responsible for promoting the school's 13 varsity athletic teams on the department’s website, while serving as the primary contact for several sports. He also was instrumental in rebranding the department’s social media presence, as well as upgrading its video broadcasting.
 
Schermick earned his master’s degree in sports business management from Manhattanville College in 2017 while serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director as a graduate assistant.
 
Prior to Manhattanville, Schermick was a 2015 graduate of DeSales University, earning bachelor’s degrees in sport management as well as marketing. While attending DeSales, he was a four-year member and two-time captain of the school’s varsity golf team, appearing in a school-record 43 tournaments during his career. During his four years, he posted 15 Top-10 finishes, including a career-low round of 73 at Lehigh C.C. Outside of golf, Schermick was the co-chair of the university's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

A native of Wernersville, Pa., Schermick currently resides in Brookville with his fiancé, Rachel.
