A native from Franklin, Wisconsin, Wise’s rugby career started in high school playing for Divine Savior Holy Angels. While at DSHA, Wise was part of four Wisconsin State Championships, three Midwest Championships, three third-place National Tournament finishes and a USA Sevens National High School Championship. She was named the 2013 DSHA Rugger of the Year, selected to the All-State team in 2010 and 2011, and named to the 2013 National High School Rugby Championship All-Tournament team. Along with playing for her high school, she played on the Wisconsin Select Side and Midwest Thunderbirds U19 teams throughout her career. She was selected as team captain her senior season for both DSHA and Wisconsin Select Side teams.
Wise extended her playing career into college at Quinnipiac University. A 2017 graduate of Quinnipiac, she was Team Captain and four-year member of the Bobcats' NCAA Division I women's rugby team. Over her four years, she compiled 53 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, three tries, four assists, and three ROTs. During her final two seasons as a Bobcat, she assisted in leading the team to two National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) national titles in 2015 and 2016. At Quinnipiac she was the recipient of the Bobcat Rookie Award and the Fighter First Award for her never quit attitude that inspired teammates to achieve greatness both on and off the field.
After her playing career ended at Quinnipiac University, Wise followed her passion and began her transition from player to coach. Her first opportunity came as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Sacred Heart University in the fall of 2017. While at Sacred Heart, she assisted in leading a recently elevated NCAA women’s rugby program to the NIRA Tier II Championship match in the 2018 fall season. During her time at Sacred Heart, she focused on the implementation of forward specific individual skills and techniques to improve stability in the set pieces of scrums and lineouts.
