Christian Askeland begins his third season as a coach for the Pioneers, working primarily with the goalkeepers.  2011 will also mark his first season doubling as an assistant on the women's soccer staff, as he has served as a men's coach since 2009.

Askeland, originally from Stavanger, Norway, played for Viking FK and Randaberg IL in Norway, but retired due to an injury and began his coaching career, taking a variety of coaching courses in his native Norway and receiving several certifications.

A 2009 graduate of Dowling College with a degree in Marketing, Askeland is currently pursuing his MBA at C.W. Post.
