Lauren Pollitt, a former NYCAC Player of the Year for C.W. Post, recently finished up her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater. The former Pioneers central defender was a two-time All-NYCAC and Academic All-NYCAC selection (2002-03), and served as a team captain during the 2003 campaign.
Pollitt came to C.W. Post in 2002, following a two-year stint as one of the best junior college players in the country at Nassau Community College. She was the team's starting center midfielder in the 2000-01 seasons, and garnered NJCAA Region XV Player of the Year and NJCAA Honorable-Mention All-America accolades as a freshman at the Garden City, N.Y. school.
A four-year starter at Valley Stream Central High School, Pollitt also worked from 1997-2004 with the Valley Stream Soccer Club. She served as a team trainer for the LIJSL Boys' Under-12 and Under-14 age groups from 2002-04, while also taking on roles as a summer camp instructor and an intramural head coach with the club.
Pollitt received her bachelor's in adolescent education with a social studies concentration from C.W. Post in 2004, and is currently working towards a master's degree in linguistics and communications disorders from Queens College. A social studies teacher at John Adams High School (Ozone Park, N.Y.), she currently resides in Valley Stream, N.Y.
